Hey, I pass that ship wreck when I'm traveling the QEW in Ontario. By any chance did the travel agent give you the temperature at your destination? I'm sure Jampy and TedS know the one I am referring to.

Don't tell Shiner and CB, but when they take these vacations we have a huge party at their house. Shhh, invitations will be arriving tomorrow.

CB, I think you and Shiner should send the D'aquisto and the Fender to me for uhh...safekeeping while you're gone. There's no telling what kind of debauchery would ensue with Warren and Strummy together, unsupervised. I'm afraid your lawyer friend might not be able to draft the protective order, keeping them a half mile away from the house, fast enough...;)

Shiner, you and CB have a great time in the Bahamas! It should be just about perfect weather there this time of year. The water is just beautiful.:AOK:

Weeeee're Baaaaackkk... :D

walked in about 20 min ago.

1st, an editorial correction to the pics that Shiner posted... the one in the water w/me & the stingrays + the pic with the locals were actually both in the Caymans, not in the Bahamas.

but short synopsis... [too late for pics tonight]

we had a WONDERFUL trip... played every night on our back porch and had a small group that would listen to us jam and really seemed to appreciate it... that was tres cool.

best private beach of any resort we've been to, hands down. snorkeled in a netted off area that had... i want to call them giant 'brain corals' but that's not right, they didn't have crenelations... think of giant mushroom cap corals, the size of half to full-size vw bugs... that was where the fish would be... we saw what had to be a two to two 1/2 foot parrot fish that we were checking out, and the other fish were so tame they would swim along with us while we checked stuff out...

and we had our own private junkanoo last night... that absolutely THRILLED me, i'd never seen a junkanoo... [i'll do a link to that in the morning... i'm too tired right now] last night, about sundown, i kept hearing a brass band warming up, and thinking [i didn't remember passing a school to get to the resort...] when i joined shiner at the main bar... sure enough, i heard them in high gear in the forefront of the resort... they played in full head-dress and gear through the open aired theater, in through the main restaurant, into the main bar, then out by the pool... just an infectious, wonderful thing to see. then they took a break out by the pool, all got drinks, then junkanoo'd in reverse... i wish we'd had cameras with us, that is one thing we didn't get pics of...

then, one of my abso wonderful memories of this trip forever.

this morning, i fulfilled a childhood dream.

i took trapeze lessons, and did two full exercises. Billy, the headmaster over the trapeze troupe, wanted me to stay and learn a new move and go again, but we had to get finished packing and ready for the airport. and yes, shiner has pics, so it DID HAPPEN!!! [happy dance... i've wanted to do that since i was four]

all in all, it was just what the doctor ordered. ;)

Kris, if your friends were down there, we didn't see them, sorry!

Player, we've been to Nassau/Paradise island twice, and have done the atlantis tour. tres cool. the only thing is that Nassau is getting too commercialized for our taste, we love the more rustic islands/resorts... you get to socialize more with the locals, and get a true feel for the culture and the people that way. :)

missed y'all, will get some pics up later this weekend!!!

Welcome back - now go get some rest.

It's great to hear you had a nice vacation.

I hope we left the house clean enough for you, cleaning all those pancakes up was a pain in the...., you would think "you know who" would be cleaner. The rest of the gang loved the guitars and we threw out all the pizza boxes.

Anyway, looking forward to pics and tell Shiner I said hello.

Hey CB, glad you had a blast on your vacation. Sounded cool. We are finding much the same to be true over here in Germany with regards to the people. Didja notice that as soon as you and Shiner left, that the State of Texas went to hell in a hand-basket over that poly-gamist sect with the hundreds of kids????

PBP, Texas has known about and watched that sect ever since they moved in. i know, b/c i remember reading an article in a magazine at my optometrist's some time ago.

the byproxy gave me the whole 'footlocker' of Hogwarts for my xmas present... i devoured Duma Key in the airport, and ran halfway through the Harry Potter series on the island, while Shiner was running through the Dark Tower Series. [liked Duma Key, but like Lisey's Story better]

my magic hat...

we used to go to this thing in Waco called the Charity Ball, held by the Junior Leaguers of Waco.

[...]

got over it quickly, especially when i saw how they failed to fund my favorite charity... i digress.

so in march of 2004, at the open bar, i went to the toddler gate of 'pleasantly buzzed'... and someone left that gate Wiiiiiiide Open... b/c i just kept on toddlin.

needless to say, when we left, i was pleasantly schnockered. i started digging through our goodie bags [parting gifts and prizes] as soon as he started the truck.

Shiner was driving us home, and we got to the police station at Waco Drive and 5th... i came up, owlishly, grinning. i slapped that cap on my head and announced that it was my 'magic invisibility cap'... and that i was pretty sure i was safe, but that he was pretty much screwed.

we laughed so hard the whole way home... i was crying.

it is my faithful Island cap thereafter. :D

Remember to put the sunscreen on before you get too affected by drinking. :poke: You don't want to wake up looking like a lobster. :rotflmao:

[tired grin]

we're baaaack... got sand in everything, clothes in the wash. i have sand in my glasses.

exhausted, but it was awesome. held living starfish in hand, snorkeled like crazy... sore, sore, sore. snorkeled a reef of fire coral for the first time...

went to port lucaya... got my conch fritter fix on...

have two rolls of undeveloped underwater snorkeling shots that if they turn out, are da bomb. have to play swaps on the pics with the other couple we went with and sort out the best. got shots of parrot fish bigger than the tv my parents had in the living room as a kid.

will try to post some pics later this weekend.

Strummy, if you came by, wouldn't know it. the house looks great. :)

Good to see both of you made it back.

I didn't want to leave the mess like I did last time, so I hired a famous cleaning team.

Welcome back. Glad y'all had fun. Sounds like you spent so much time underwater that you didn't have a chance to get TOASTED on the beach. :D

the guitars made it both ways just fine, even with someone trying to slap their laptop on mine in the overhead bin. :reallymad:

the pics should be ready in 20-30 min... couldn't wait, got up bright and early to take them and pick up the puppy. :D

Yup, had a great time. Although after a week of Bahamian food and rum drinks, my digestive system is . . . well, a little off! But it was nice to sleep in our own bed last night.:AOK:

We'll try to get some pics up later today.

Oh . . . the guitars made it back just fine, played out on the patio every day.:bravo:

Hey Pappy, you know there's a law that says a man doesn't have to shave on vacation . . . or on weekends.:D

Hmmmmmmmmmm........I've managed to not shave my entire face for the past 23 years. Just trim the beard up every week or two and I'm good to go. Of course, the facial hair is to make-up for the lack of cranial hair. :D

Nice pics, looks like y'all had fun.
