I might try it again tomorrow since I know the head better and I have a better feel for the groove...it was pretty hard for me at this tempo....

Wow. That is great Mark.:bravo: Your playing is spot on.

Don't forget that his sound is mostly clean through the tune. I'm not sure if you were trying to capture his thing or not. Just something I noticed. I'll tell you this though your chorus sound nails his chorus sound. Pretty amazing. Way above my head though. I wish I could play this way. Great job. You really captured the essence of the song and the energy as well.

If you decide to do another take be sure to save a copy of this one because it rocks.:AOK:

Thank you so much!

I've actually not heard this particular tune, but I have listened to quite a bit of John Scofield over the years. As with the other tune I posted this week I didn't have very much time but my PodXT had the "Cold Shot" by Stevie Ray Vaughan model on it and it I thought it was close enough. I usually don't use effected tones when I solo but since it was a Scofield tune I thought I'd give it a try. The sound actually inspired me to play some things I don't usually try...

One thing I struggled with was the tempo....it didn't seem very fast until I had to play with the track.

Thanks again for the kind words...

Great backing track site. I just pulled down some blues BT's to use for my lessons - thanks.
