Another legend gone. He'll be missed.

This past week has seen several older celebrities pass on, Harvey Korman for instance.

That's really a loss to the music world...

I saw him locally a couple of years ago, and I wondered at the time how much longer he'd be with us. His skills were pretty well gone, with a younger guitarist covering for him. His mind wandered as he told stories that didn't make any sense.

I prefer to think of him as he was, at the top of his game. He was a dynamic force in blues and rock and influenced so many of the guitarists we all know and love.

I hope he had a peaceful end. RIP, Bo...

RIP(ped off) Bo Diddley. Eric Burdon's just been on the radio talking about his song and the people who owe a (ahem) debt to the man. A true original.

oh so true...a lot of the old time blues and r&b bands got "royally" ripped off by the promoters :crazyguy: ....most of them got no royalties on their songs and such....too bad....

Kodiak called me today to tell me about the death of Bo, he said Dad you know we were sitting beside the guitar of Bo Diddley on Friday in Gatlinburg at Hard Rock Cafe and talking about how different that one item was from all the others. Thanks Bo, for the contributions to our world.

The wonderful thing about when such a legend passes on, he left so many behind that he has influenced. So besides the recordings and the videos he made, his music plays on within the writing of others.

R.I.P. BO!

Sad but true, we have to face it, the old heroes pass away one by one.

Now it is up to poeple like us to keep the Blues alive and to pass it on to our kids.

Whoa, 4 hours. I considered going but that would've been a smidge long. Some friends of mine had discussed attending, I need to check and see if they did.

He deserved every minute of it and more. I didn't know much about him as I'm sure many did, but the little I did know made me aware of the passing of a great contributor and human being.

PILLS!

A classic song, covered by the New York Dolls. Many many punk rockers know the song and assume it's a Dolls song, I was the same way until I researched Bo's greatest hits for our show and discovered it was a Bo DIddley song, much to my delight! Unfortunately we didn't play it the night I played with him. Here's the Dolls version, it rocks!
