Shiner is cracking me up.

he open-tuned one of his gitfiddles and we've been gizmo'ing around with the slides Dug made us.

great fun.

i'm laughing listening to him in the other room. i'm going to have to buy that book referenced on another thread and start seriously playing around.

these are fun.

it's a bit of practice to get the right even-ness on pressure down to make the chords... this is really interesting. :D

[ok, he's switching tunings again... i'm out to go and experiment] :)

ahahahahahaah I just knew that you'd love slidin'. :bravo: The book would be good, but an instructional DVD might be better, so that you get to see what they're doing. Are you playing slide on the acoustic or electric??
Not as simple as it looks is it? Takes some getting used to, how to apply the correct pressure, when to not have the slide touch all of the strings when it doesn't need to. It's an ART form in and of itself.
