For my stompboxes in a line, I have a couple of ones much like these offset metal ones. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Musicians-Gear-Offset-Metal-Effect-Pedal-Coupler-?sku=330080 I like the offset ones as I combine Behringer and Boss and Digitech, and it works better. Also takes up very little space and is neat.

I also have one of these, and it seems fine so far. Hosa CFS107 6-Inch Jumper Cable for Pedal Effects (Metal Type)http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000068O3Y

I first bought 3 of these: http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-HOSA-PEDAL-EFFECT-COUPLER/dp/B000068O43/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_0_1 , used off the bay, and they have not been reliable. I bet I could glue or solder them so they would work better, but at least one of them gets loose and loses connectivity or gets noisy.

I've got a few of those too. I like them, but I've heard they can be hard on the jacks of the pedals they're connected to since they can't flex the way a cable can. I haven't had any problems with them myself, but it's something to be aware of. Stomp lightly.

I have not had problems either, but I am mostly a home player. I suppose the offset ones could twist a little, but that is a good point. Stomp lightly, or have a secure base for the stompboxes, and for sure, carry a mean guitar.
