Great stuff on a Sunday am. Or anytime for that matter. Cockers voice, like Rod Stewarts, always seems on the edge of disaster. And that's what makes them great. Thanks :bravo:

I had to run to the auto parts store and while I was out I heard Joe Cocker's version of "You Can Leave Your Hat On". I started thinking about the number of covers he has done and how he makes them uniquely his own.

I know others have put their twist or stamp on covers, but I can't think of anyone that does it as well as Joe Cocker. It is probably safe to say that most people that hear his versions aren't aware of an earlier release and probably consider the songs his. Even though they are covers, I think when someone is capable of making it unique and doing it tastefully, they deserve a lot of credit.
