Finally found a source for this and ordered mine today. After a couple small mods I intend to gig this to death: Joan Jett Signature Melody Maker (http://www.gibson.com/en-us/divisions/gibson%20usa/products/designer/joan-jett-melody-maker/)

For some reason I thought you ordered this already from Sweetwater.

Anyway, looking forward to hearing the reviews. Can you share what sort of mods you are looking to do?

Sweetwater didn't get any and couldn't even get a lead time on getting one... finally found one in North Houston.

They are a very cool looking guitar I gotta admit. What's even more outagous is that a guy my ages actually has a Runaway's album at home somewhere....

Got mine at Fuller's Vintage Guitar... $6C's & change, free shipping, no tax. Should be here on Friday.
Gotta get it first... I want to try out a SD Hot Rail Stacked Single in it. I'll try out a few pup options.

Yeah, but I don't think she plays for that team... or so I've heard.

Not that there's anything wrong with that (obscure Seinfeld reference). I still have a huge crush on her. She's my rock and roll goddess fantasy :AOK: Punk, leathers, guitars, all tatt'd up...

*sigh* it's just dreamy! ;)

Rocket,

Posting the pic of JJ took some of the sizzle out of the guitar.

I'm at work and can't post pics, but quick someone post a nice pic of a Melody Maker.

Must turn away.

I still really like her and think she could look really good, but she should not "try so hard" to hold on to that particular look. I also think the makeup resembles this lady:

This shot was taken while Joan was all over the airwaves back in the day.

Fortunately, it doesn't keep her from selling out & rockin' most venues! I'm still a fan!

I am sure it is still a great rockin' show. It isn't all about how you look in unzipped pants. I am excited for you to get that guitar and hear more about it too. It just looks like hard drivin' fun to me.

I think we are seeing examples of people that may be out on work release programs after serving some time. There are probably some that might admit they did, sorry I mean know Drake.

JJ finally arrived, (damn the holiday shipping!) Exactly as described.
Hot, hot BurstBucker3... won't be needing to change that out after all. Couple sharp fret ends will need to dress up. Feels just slightly fat in the hand for me (normal, as I prefer a very narrow fretboard.)
Nicest Gibson case I own. They must have changed vendors again... that last (Canadian) vendor's cases were crap!
Here's a quick shot. Sorry bout the flash... we live in a cave:

To answer GG, the JJ CD came in the case with some other assorted goodies from Fuller's.
To answer WW, we'll see after I dress it up a bit and pipe it through my DeVille which suspiciously hasn't found it's way back home yet!

Haha, a man after my own heart.

I saw here play in a midsize club years ago, while she still had her original lead guitarist Ricky Byrd. Great great stuff.

And lots of women with close-cropped hair.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Um...Punk, Leather, Tattoo's.....you could do a LOT better than JJ...

Check out Brody Dalle formerly of the Distillers

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSvgAlH_bRU

+1 She's got an awesome voice
+1 Her lyrics are lot more genuine and less bubble gum than that JJ clip posted above
+1 She's HAWT
+1 She's originally from Melbourne
+1 She plays Maton guitars (ever wonder how Josh Homme discovered them?? See Below)
+1 She's straight (although she's now married to Josh Homme of QOTSA)

If you like that "soaked in whisky and cigarettes" voice married to music that varies from flat out punk (sing sing death house) to a more hard rock sound (drain the blood, the link I posted) then check out the Distillers.

And did I mention she's hot? hehe

I haven't really played it except a little clean through my Acoustasonic... I still don't have my DeVille. I suppose I could crank it a bit through my Marshall but got a bunch of stuff to do and, as yet, haven't dressed up those sharp fret ends.
Got another en route, (bought that SXGG1 from Rondo.)
Still waiting for Peavey to get that Vypyr Tube 120 out to retail... that's gonna be my new home amp(h) to replace POS Marshall.

I'll have to IOU the group detailed reviews of JJMM & SXGG...
Fair enough?

I already knew about the Distillers and Brody. I like Matons, and Brody has a great rack.

But I prefer Joan's music.
