Easiest town in the worlld to find. Wherever you are, go to the center of the country and find US Highway 183 (runs from Canada to Mexico). Head south till ya get to Austin. Stop and enjoy the wierdness, but don't talk to Leslie (semi famous transvestite with a beard), he can get chatty.

Continue south until you smell barbeque (about 25-30 miles). You've arrived.

Haha, yeah, LTJ are from here. I can remember when they were a pop-punk band with no horns!

My main band, Crash Pad, gigged with an LTJ side band called Rehasher, also, Vinnie and Roger have come to a couple of our shows, since they were friends with a band we used to gig with called Vangard. Jessica Mills, a former alto saxophone player for them used to be on a "punk parents" mailing list I was on, and Derron Nuhfer, who used to play tenor and baritone saxophones with them, clerked at a music store I used to frequent.

Gainesville is a small town with a big university. A lot of people know most of everybody on the music scene.

For those that dont know, our river banks are the closest you can get to seeing a Space Shuttle launch(without a launch pass).
30 minutes from anywhere, Orlando, Daytona beach, Cocoa beach, Melbourne...lots of stuff to do around here.

No live music at Ocean Grill... just elegant dining. If I want live music I just open a window or door, (of course my neighbors say the same.)

You must be referring to Hiram's "Ramp Lounge", "Tiki Stage" or "Grand Sand Bandstand" at the SandBar as there's no live music, (or any music,) in the restaurant, (although you can still hear it on some nights.) I used to play down there with Pete Harris before he died last year:

Sonic Mole Chasers...theyre a 3 piece that play alot of 80s/90s pop covers, and do it very well and with style. They put on a nice show. I like the drummer uses an electric kit, so they are able to set up at reasonable volumes and the rest of the band doesnt have to compete, so they sound great and are very listenable. And the singer switches between guitar and bass frequently...this guy has stage presence. Id highly recommend seeing them...especially at that venue!:bravo:

Couple of things about Sydney.

- Probably the most expensive city in Australia.
- It's the first city established in Australia
- It's not the capitol city and nor is Melbourne in spite of what a lot of visitors believe. (Any of our Kiwi brothers can likely relate. Lots of people I speak to OS assume Auckland is the capitol of NZ)
- It's a tight race between Sydney and Melbourne for most cultually diverse city in Australia. There are many parts of both cities that are completely devoid of Australian born people and this can often come as a surprise to visitors expecting kangaroo's and bronzed life savers and when they get to the city and find that a huge number (maybe even most) of the people walking around are of Asian descent. I have two friends from Brazil who were astounded at the lack of "Aussies" they saw in the city and most of my Japanese collegues comment similarly the first time they get here.

Back when I left it was starting to grow significantly, and I think it's actually the fastest growing city in the country these days. In spite of that though it's still a bit of a joke to Sydney and Melbourne people. "Oh your from Brisbane, I'm sorry I'll speak slowly" etc Still very much a zenophobic country town culture though in spite of it's size.

Oh and loads of people have heard of Bondi Beach in Sydney. It's nice, but the beaches in Queensland (where I'm from) are WAY better. The beaches in Far North QLD are spectacular, but in that case the stories of killer sharks/jellyfish/croc's/dingo's etc are all true.
