There use to be a soda shop (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soda_shop) across the street from my grade school and after school and on weekends I would slip my quarter into the jukebox and press A5 (don't remember the real number)

All my friends thought I was nuts - I liked the song and well, years later, I guess they were right.

Funny, for some reason it makes me misty eyed.

Ummm...interesting song that I've never heard before. And now, just think, I get to hear it in my head ALL NIGHT LONG.
I'm sure there were no drugs involved with that song either.

:D

Im begining to think youre crazy too...the A side had to have been better.
Dont get me wrong...Im a HUGE Beatles fan, but I dont recall that song either...but its only a lil more catchy than "Number 9".

Dude, I just looked it(the A-side) up ...and you chose that over "Let It Be"? ...and regularly???

Sounds like Jukebox war-fare to me *shrug*

I remember it being played only on the first FM stations and at parties the am stations did not give it much air time

I always thought of it as campy and theatrical kind of a satire on there popularity

A Beatles tune I've never heard before!!! Wow. Not quite on the same level as A Day in the Life, Paperback Writer, Norwegian Wood.

Interesting post.

Thats how I found out the A-side, interesting read...kinda explains to me why I like the McCartney songs better, but I reckon its debateable who wrote what, but to me I think its obvious whos responsible for what.

But for what its worth, George Martin was my favorite Beatle...and hes all over that song(that youd posted) doin his thing.

I am an absolute Beatles fan. Here's an example of the genius of Lennon/McCartney, John writes this song and Paul comes up with an incredible bassline.
