Anybody have a comfortable seat they can recommend for a bike. I don't want to go through the hassle and time it takes to recondition my @$$ to that skinny seat again.

I ride a Volkscycle Mark XV (look it up if you can find it)

and a Trek 8000.

I thought about a seat post with a shock absorber, but they can get pricey.

Any suggestions.

Brooks, the first week is bad but after that you won't know it's there.

Buy from wallbike and get a no quibble return.

not true, it worked for me.

Are you recommending a "specific" seat or just any of their seats?

I use a B17 in honey leather. The real choice is sprung or unsprung. If your bar is above your saddle height, go sprung. Otherwise the B17 pretty much does it all unless you're a racing whippet. Mine took about a week of 17 mile round trip commuting to break in. And of course they look fantastic :AOK:

Brooks saddles are a classic!
When I used to work in a bike shop the joke was that you were supposed to pee on the seat of a Brooks to soften the leather up and make it more comfortable.

Id highly recommend a San Marco "Strada"
Heres a used one on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/Selle-San-Marco-Strada-ti-saddle-seat-made-in-italia_W0QQitemZ120288256991QQcmdZViewItem)

My friend just got two for his bikes that you might really like. I'll see him tomorrow and get the brand and model for you. They are just cushy enough with the relief cutout and priced right.
