I know there are going to be more albums released this year but I thought it might be good to start a thread now to help folks find some good music.

Eric Gales - The Story Of My Life
Whitesnake - Good To Be Bad
(both have oodles of great guitar work)

Allen & Lande - The Revenge
The Pineapple Thief - Tightly Unwound
Kings X - XV
Moonsafari - blomljud
Splinter - Dreamers
The Tangent - Not As Good As The Book
RPWL - The RPWL Experience

So Eric Gales has a new one out? I will have to get that one. I love his style of playing.

I haven't heard that many albums yet of 2008. The only one I can really recommend is:

* Sonny Landreth - From The Reach

I just picked up 22Dreams by Paul Weller, it's pretty good.
I haven't listened to much "new" music lately, in a rut I guess.

Definitely Robert. I suspect you would enjoy it quite a bit.

Only got one album that was released this year, fortunately it's a good one.

Feeder - Silent Cry

There's some good guitar work on it, particularly the intro/chorus on "Miss You" and the lead on "Tracing Lines". And the lyrics are as good as you would expect from a Feeder album.
Maybe not to everyone's taste, but what is?

Well and succinctly put. :D

I'm still getting over Whitesnake is still together. With apologies to the good Reverend Rawk but they always struck me as Zeppelin light. Maybe I need to get out more.

Yes, you do :)

Since Whitesnake is David Coverdale and whoever the heck is with him at the moment, the Snake will probably be around as long as ol' Dave is above ground.

I was prepared to write off the album as another 80s band recording an album I can feel safe ignoring. That would have been a mistake. Lots of good blues-based hard rock.

If you like that then the Eric Gales will be a treat for you too. Not the same style as Whitesnake but an awesome variety of guitars sounds, attitude and licks.
