Anyone here play any of the Stagg or Vintage guitars?
I've been looking at a few of them and they seem pretty cheap for the wood they're made of.

I think Stagg was my first guitar! I got it when I was 14 I think!

Vintage are excellent guitars especially the Icon series. I have a Vintage Icon V100 Lemon Drop and it's on a par with my American Deluxe Strat in terms of quality and it's got an amazing tone.

You can check out the full range on: www.jhs.co.uk

Former lead singer in a band I was in had a Stagg acoustic. Great tone, but needed new tuners. Wouldn't hold a tune through a whole song to save its life.

Vintage are good guitars, a real bargain. My memory of Staggs is that they're pretty generic copies with nothing really to recommend them.

....and that relic'd strat doesn't sound too bad either!!

I've tried many Vintage guitars and the majority of their models are great

I've never seen Vintage guitars here in the States. They get great reviews in all the UK guitar mags I've ever seen.

I tried a couple of Vintage guitars today. Not bad, although I wasn't amazed. The pickups seemed so-so.

So are these like Canadian guitars or something? Please advise. :)

I'm pretty sure both are Asian imports to the UK market primarily.

I've seen some Staggs locally and they were kinda crappy. Haven't seen any Vintages down here but from the reports I've seen they're more along the lines of Agile or Xavier, good bang for buck.
