Thanks for the great tunes David, and have a great B-Day! Born on this day in 1961. U2 debuts on UK charts today in '81 with Fire, and tops the charts in '87 with "Still haven't found what I'm looking for" David "The Edge" Evans is a huge part of the bands' sound, and the band is still one of my favorites.

I watched the VH1 special about U2 the other night and listened to The Joshua Tree on the way to work today. Despite the critics, it's a great CD.

The Edge will never be recognized for being a great guitarist, a fact that he will readily admit. I don't know if it was said on the show I watched or if I read it on the web, but what he does is weave a tapestry of sound that is distinctively his.

The band has demonstrated longevity, a rarity in bands that have some out in the last 10 to 20 years.
