Chet is my hero!

I love the way he plays. He's a big influence on me for solo acoustic guitar stuff. I'm still trying to get his style right, but it's a good goal to have. He's an unending source of licks to learn from. He is one of the few musicians that I'd always wanted to meet.

After seeing the clip of him and Les Paul playing together you can really see what a big influence Django Reinhard was on Les Paul's style. He does some of the same kinds of flashy arpeggio licks and the cool chromatic licks where he slides a single finger up or down the neck and picks every note along the way. Very nice stuff. But what impresses me the most about this clip is that both of these guys still had great technique even in their later years. It goes to show you that you're never too old to play guitar and give it your best!
