Not a big follower of his stuff, but still a force in the music industry

Hayes was a MAJOR influence on the sound of funk music. He also did a great job as the voice of Chef on South Park until he decided to be a complete hypocrite, but we don't discuss religion here and it's not nice to speak ill of the dead so I won't elaborate. Sad to see him go.

ah, I never watched South Park. Tried once, but couldn't understand what they were saying. Thought maybe it was Spanish.

This is bizzare. We were just talking about South Park and Chef and Issac Hayes today. None of us knew that he had passed. Cool universe...when you listen.

Bye Issac. I liked your stuff...some of it.

Warning: not safe for work--or for the easily offended. But this gives you an idea of Hayes' contributions to the show.

I did not know much about Hayes beyond "Shaft" and "Hot Buttered Soul".

When reading a bit about Hayes I learned he also co-wrote "Hold on I'm Coming" and "Soul Man". For that alone he gets a big thanks from me. Great Stax Volt tunes.

I just found that out too.
