This is the first part of a very useful but very "hard on your hand" etude getting you to play legato phrases without a single right hand pick stroke, and it is all on one string. Try and do this one in small bits until you get your hand strength up...

That is a pretty tough excercise, but in the end it is always good to be able to play some nice and fluently legato.

I did my excercises on legato playing when I had my "Satriani" phase some 12 years ago...

Thanks! The "Sartiani" thing is pretty much what this is, just very slow....
