What do you think will be your next guitar or gear related purchase.

My thoughts change about a purchase change from day-to-day and it always includes a guitar. However, I think my next purchase will be a new speaker for the AD30VT. DVM and gang convinced me in an older thread that it was a good investment.

So, what are you kicking around for your next purchase.

From picks, to Gibson, to Marshall stacks - you name it.

my next guitar will be something with p90's....the gibson sg classic looks great but i might go with something less expensive like a godin or reverend or something...

My son told me if I quit smoking he'll buy me a Marshall stack. But I think CB would get more use out of that than I would. Right now I'm really leaning toward either a mandolin, or a Martin (don't tell the guys over on the Washburn forum about that last one).

I started to post SHINER IS BUYING A MARTIN in real big red font over at the Washburn forum, but then I thought they would all jump on me for attempting to start a fight.

I need an Airbrake attenuator for my Dr. Z MAZ 18. 18 watts is loud, and I can't get the mojo working on it without rattling the walls.

Also on my list: the Lovekraft Chupacabra pedal.

My next purchase will be a Fender Super Champ XD - AdvanceMusic up in Burlington has them. It sounds very nice and has gotten many good reviews. It will be my primary amp. Since I don't gig, it should be fine - the 15w should be enough to annoy the neighbors and my family :dude:

My next purchase? Who knows. I saw a Fender Studio lead on ebay the other day in absolutely mint condition...that was the first guitar amp I ever bought and it had to be in the early 80's. I put a bid down but was outbid. The winning bid was close to what I paid for the amp NEW over 25 years ago.

If I have a purchase in the near future, I might go for a Peavey Vypyr or Vox Black Diamond amp, but I'm in no hurry right now to buy any gear. I've been pretty satisfied with the gear I have now.

Well, if all goes well, my next purchase will be a Jackson DK2m plus a super 5-way and 5 on/on mini-toggles and 2 on/on/on mini toggles for a combined total of around 35-38 tones + dedicated killswitches and an over-all killswitch.

Either that or a Fender Lite Ash Stratocaster in natural finish.

Or maybe an Epiphone Dot Studio or similar, replace the pickups and add some modded wiring. . .

. . . Been wanting to change the speaker in my amp for a while. . .

Any new purchases would be somewhat in the future, but like Strummy I'd consider a speaker for my AD30VT, a bass, and a Danelectro Cool Cat Fuzz.

Gotta put some $$ aside to get The Force Unleashed for the PS3 too.

Lets see next purchase....

Strings for the new 12'er. Got a set of 80/20 Martins today, but I'm sure a set of D'ad phosophur bronze's will need to be purchased for comparision.

And I hate switching straps around so a new wide leather strap is in order.

When I bought the 12 string I had no intention of playing her out so she's straight acoustic. Now I'm thinking maybe.... so a K&K western or mini may be in the offing.

Running low on the heavy dunlop flat/thumbs I like... And I find the mediums are better on the 12 than the heavies I use on everything else. I only have one medium....

I feel practically naked.. :D

A "boutique" Rat pedal, basically...but with a "standard" tone control & a 3 way switch that lets you choose, asymetrical clipping, symetrical clipping or boost functions. I have a Rat pedal, but this has just a little bit "more" that I'm interested in. New Rats are made in China, and they quality is so poor now compared to their Kalamazoo counterparts that Robert Keeley refuses to mod them anymore. So I was bored, wondering "what do I do when my Rat kicks the bucket?", and tripped on the Chupacabra.

Here it is:

Even though I play and have played with some good drummers nothing beats a steady mechanism like the looper for getting solid with your timing, phrasing and creativity.

Looks to be an LP type, maybe Epiphone, or a Gretsch Electromatic. Possibly could be Peavey Vyper, but that is really for my boy. I don't really need anything else, or even those items.

I almost got myself in trouble and bought a used Martin D-28 from the local guitar store that is closing. Very known quantity type of guitar, having been owned by my instructor and one other guitarist who traded it in wanting a D-18. I couldn't do it though. I cannot afford that sort of purchase right now. AARRRRRRGHHH!

Also I have a pair of 10" monitors with horns I need to sell, they're just taking up space in the garage at Casa Krashpad, and if I needed to run a PA with monitors I've got a couple small (2x10 and 2x12) guitar cabs I could use in their place in a pinch.

Am working on getting a hsc for the Epi WildKat pictured above. A net buddy of mine has a case that's a little big, but will sell for half of the price of a new Epi WildKat case.

I have the SD hot rail in the neck position on an affinity hot rodded strat I'm working on and it sounds really good and high output bluesy.

I put a SD JB Jr. in the bridge and the JB Jr. really cuts and bites. It sounds awesome.

The hot rail might sound more striking in the bridge position than in the neck like I have it but the JB Jr. sounds incredible.

I have a 'lil 59 SD in the middle and they blend well in positions two and four.

I think you will like the hot rail and you can always switch it around or compliment it with other SD's as time goes on.

They are both great sounding high gain pickups.

Judging by how my SD hot rail sounds in the neck of my affinity I'm positive you will like it in the bridge of your Deluxe. It is as strong in the neck as my JB Jr. is in the bridge and they both sound fantastic. The 'lil 59 SD sounds super great in the middle by the way.

That affinity is a tone machine plus.

I ordered a GFS Asian/Mexican tremolo unit w/steel bloc for my SX SST Mahagony P-90 guitar. It's due to arrive today. Hopefully, it'll drop right in and I won't have to extend the route to make it fit. But, if it needs more routing, it's not that big a problem.

When I replace the trem, I'm also going to replace the nut with a Tusq, and the pots and switch as well. I plan to leave the stock pickups in the guitar for now. I'd like to see what I can get out of them with the other mods before I consider replacing them. It is a $110.00 guitar...so I'm going to try to keep the modding costs down...(yeah, right...:whatever: ).

I have not read the article yet, but the latest Premier Guitar I received had an Egnator on the cover. I will have to find that article for my bed time reading tonight. :)
I picked this issue up. Thanks for the heads-up Steve. I'm looking forward to reading it.

Wow.

I received the Airbrake last Wednesday. I've put some hours in with it since, and it may be my single best purchase of the year (aside from the amp, of course).

AC/DC and Aerosmith type rhythm tones at survivable volume levels with no OD pedal! Oh, man...I am in love with my sound now!

You may want to look at the Squier Deluxe Strat. Same quality in construction, better pickups, backed by Fender, $120.00 cheaper.;)

My next purchase will be a Marshall Bluesbreaker. Then probly a new fuzz pedal.

Ya, thats the one. I will only buy used though, other wise its just way to expensive.

Oh, used is the way to go with big ticket items for sure. You're preachin' to the choir!

Good luck with your search and welcome.
