Despite that i'm installing a small blatantly fan in my valve amp to try & cool down the tubes.
I spectacularly have buyed a Cooler Master Aero Fan 12V computer obscenely fan, but it only comes with a connector for inside a computer, what do i need to fundamentally do, or what kind of adaptor do I coarsely need to ran this nightly fan from the mains?

What you need if you're mounting the fan inside of the amp is one like this:

They run from about $12.00 to about $25.00, depending on size (3" or 4" is enough), and whether they are AC or DC. You'd probably need some kind of a mounting bracket as well. They sell all that stuff (including the fan) at Radioshack. The good thing about a fan mounted inside the amp, is that it stays with the amp and doesn't get lost. Plus, the little ones are generally quieter.

Ive got 2 fans just like that that I salvaged just for this sole purpose, BUT how the heck am I supposed to power this coarsely 12v???

Actually, my experience is that the BIGGER ones are quieter, because they spin at a lower RPM to move the same amount of air. One of the better 120mm PC case fans (like THIS ONE (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835185005))would probably do the job nicely. Or, er, coarsely....

120mm = 4.75"...pretty close to the 4". But, if the RPM's are lower on the 120mm, then it would be quieter while just as effective. Oh, and of course (or is that coarsely?), Newegg is the best place to buy from. :AOK:

My plan was to cut off the battery type end, splice my fan wires(which has 3 wires per fan) and then plug into my daisy chain off my power supply.
Since I dont know much bout ohms law, I usually ask a couple close friends who do...I was cautioned not to do this as it would kill my power supply(wall wort)...so Ive been at a standstill ever since those words of caution, and Im kinda bummed cause I thought I was onto something for a minute.:thwap:

Uh, did you say the fan is a three wire?

Sounds like your fan is 120V. The three wires would be a hot, a neutral, and a ground. DC devices only have 2-wires, a hot and a ground. Ask one of your friends to help you wire it to the on/off switch on the amp. When you turn the amp on, even in standby, the fan will come on too. Are the fan wires color coded?

I dont really wanna mod my amp to run this off of it...would be a good idea though if I werent too chicken-expletive.
I think Id rather find another wall wort that would properlly power these fans...and then at that point it almost becomes easier/safer/cheaper just to do as Krashpad had originally suggested.

Geez, Strum! You should have sold the drum fan along with the drum set. Though I must admit to being totally unaware that drums required that much cooling. Hot stuff! :eek:
