...he kicks it in at 4:55 - Satriani uses it live in Cool #9 also

It's an Octavia of some sort. I have a Dunlop Octave Fuzz that does that thing too, great fun to play with.

I have a demo of my Wah, Octave Fuzz and SD-9 here - http://www.dolphinstreet.com/video_clips/video-50.php

A whammy pedal can get the same sounds too.

Here is his board from late 2007. http://www.guitarmessenger.com/sites/interviews/20-JoeBonamassa/1.html

This might be helpful too.

Definitely the Fulltone Octafuzz, a clone of the old Tycobrahe Octavia. He shows it starting right about 5 minutes through that pedal video. That's the classic Hendrixian octave-up sound, for sure.

Thank you gentlemen - I'll have a play around with my Digitech EX-7 to see if I can coax that kind of sound out of it - otherwise I can feel another GAS attack coming on.

Voodoo can make you one of the BYOC versions.;)You KNOW I can. BYOC offers an Octave Fuzz kit that I'll build for $90 assembled but unfinished, or $110 for a fully painted & decaled pedal. SUCH A DEAL!! See purchase terms HERE (http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php?t=8136).... :AOK:

Unfortunately it'd probably be double the cost to send to Ireland
