piezo pickup and percussion in solidbody electric

hey folks,

i would like to know if a piezo- pickup would pickup percussive sounds in a solidbodied electric, just like in an acoustic guitar?

if not, is there any possibility to get similar sounds out of a solidbody or do i have to grab my accoustic for stuff like this?

From what I've experienced no. Electric guitars with this feature typically have activation at the bridge saddles only. This will eliminate body resonance like you'd get with an acoustic that has piezo under the bridge and a body mic.
Possibly someone else has has a different experience?
