So I was talking to a friend of mine this week about my lovely Childbride and her birthday tomorrow, and she asked how much older I was.

"Eight years", I answered.

"Well that's not so bad" she responded.

"Think of this way, when my son was born, she was 14 years old" I answered.

She said "Oh . . . it's a little creepy when you put it that way."

My great-grandfather was ~40 when he married my great-grandmother, who was ~20. Congrats (on your birthday) and condolences (well, for Shiner). This is also my little girl's fifth birthday. Doesn't seem possible.

i am enjoying an exceptional birthday. got to wear jeans to work, the weather is beautiful, and have had many very kind remembrances today. decided to play hooky and leave work early. ;) in a few hours, shiner is taking me to dinner at the restaurant where he proposed on bended knee on my bday in '01. :)
