Hello fretters,
Just got on board, and glad to be here. Hell, I'm glad to be most anywhere! My name is Koy, and I hail from West Texas. I am kind of new to playing music, I have been playing Bass for about 2.5 years now, and its a load of fun. I currently have 5 basses in the stable. First is my favorite, I play this Warwick Standard 4 string 70% of the time:

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h34/k5koy/warwicksmall.jpg

Its heavy, but has remarkable growling tone. Next in the line-up, and gets used quite a bit, my Fender Marcus Miller 5 string. This is what I consider the flagship of my basses:

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h34/k5koy/marcussmall.jpg

Its pristine and plays like a dream! Up next, the Japanese Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. My only non-American Fender. Very well made and a strong voice:

I had to Americanize it some, so I added the Texas Flag pickguard! Next is my Tradition Fretless:

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h34/k5koy/Traditionsmall.jpg

This is an inexpensive fretless, but it has a great neck, and I would give it an 8 out of 10. Very lightweight Basswood tips the scale at a mere 5 pounds. I enjoy rattling the windows by plugging these into an Ampeg Bass amp or 2.

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h34/k5koy/ampeg.jpg

The Solid State B2R Head & the large 4X10 cab is one amp, and its ok, but what I really want is a Classic Ampeg Tube Head! Sandwiched in between the B2R & the 4X10 is a nice little BA115HP Combo amp.

I also picked up a few guitars for visiting players to use when they would drop in for a jam, but that didnt happen as often as I thought it would, so I decided to start playing some guitar as well. Been picking around on guitar about 4 weeks now, and I think I am making some progress, but its going to be a long row to hoe! Little tiny fretboards, and contortionistic chord patterns are truley the nemissis of a Bass player! Heres whats in the Guitar stable. My first is the old stand by of many a guitarist, Im sure everybody here has had one The American Standard Strat. This one is a 60th Anniversary edition:

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h34/k5koy/stratsmall.jpg

Next is an Arbor Full Hollow Body Jazz type guitar. Chinese made & you could pick up 10 of these before you would find one this good. I got lucky! Traded this for some custom Jewelry I made:

Next is my Carvin Thinline Acoustic. I really like this little lightweight Jewel! American made & top quality little Guitar.

Ok, last one! I picked this beauty up this past week, and Im glad I did. Its a Ibanez EW20ZWent Acoustic/Electric. Beautiful agressive grain, sweet throaty tone, and a great feel make this a keeper!

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h34/k5koy/Zebrasmall.jpg

I have a Peavey Ecoustic 112 that just loves my Acoustic stuff:

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h34/k5koy/ecoustic.jpg

And a Vintage Peavey Artist 240 Tube amp from the 70's thats sweet for the electrics.
Its been around the block a few times, but still rocks the house!
Ok, so that about it for this introduction. I hope to improve my skill in part to this group. Im sure I will learn alot here. Who knows, I may even be able to toss out a few pearls myself! Look forward to exchanging ideas with everyone here. Until then,

Koy Carson

That's a nice collection you have going there! Fair play! I especially like that Ibanez acoustic - I've had my eye on that exact model for a while now (though I may get an Ovation Applause first). How does it play/sound?

Welcome to The Fret, by the way.

Fellow Texan Fretter Welcome, Koy!

Glad you're here. I really dig the Warwick bass (along with all the other ones), and the skinny stringed guitars are cool, too!

Welcome Koy!

I hear you about Ampeg tube heads. I have an SVT 8x10 that's calling out for a mate. And though I have a nice 60's Sunn 200S tube bass amp head, it's 8 ohm and the cab is 4.
