Hand wired does not always mean point to point wired:

This Vox is described as hand wired, and it is, but it is handwired on a PCB.

Caveat emptor.

Why would you want a mass produced handwired anything? I don't think they'd hire the most competent and skilled solderers for a production line like that.

Exactly. Vox is counting on people confusing "hand wired" with "quality built." And they seem to charge boutique prices for this amp: $1k for the head, $1,400 for the combo.

Mass produced amps should be mostly machine assembled. That is one strength of machine assembled amps: consistency.

Hand wired amps require skilled labor to build. Minor variances in component placement, solder joints, and wire routing can cause problems. Boutique builders with serious lead dress chops can usually identify and correct these problems before the amp goes out the door.
