I just finished removing the neck off of my old Kramer to make some necessary truss rod adjustments - too much relief. Once I screwed it back to the body I was able to significantly lower the original Floyd Rose trem so that it, once again, has insanely low action sans buzz and doesn't choke any notes on the fretboard. I only had to make a slight change to the intonation setting on the G and B strings and now it's back to it former glory. I cannot stress enough how guitarists should really learn how to do their own setups. Not only does it make economic sense but no one knows how it's supposed to feel except you. Sure, someone could get it kind of close for you but it's the extra tweaking that makes all the difference. It's the difference in whether that guitar just sits in its case or in the rack as opposed to being a go to guitar. It's the difference in fighting for tone and playability versus fluidity and enjoyment on a grand scale.

For the uninitiated and the faint of heart, here is one of the best books you can buy to keep your guitar happy and well maintained:

There are others available but this should be the first on your list for tackling the subject. Comes with fretboard templates to adjust action specific to your radius and other goodies.
