I like the look of the Sherry pick guard and wanted one for my Dot. I was able to find one and installed it the other day. The bracket that connects to from the pg to the guitar is located slightly different on the the Sherry pg and the pick ups on the Dot are spaced about a 1/16th of an inch closer together.

I used a Dremel on the spacing problem, taking the material off of the pg. I drilled another hole in the body of the Dot to line up the bracket properly. I was going to drill a hole in the pg, but since I am never going to sell this guitar, the additional hole in the body of the guitar doesn't bother me.

I've been playing the guitar most of last night and today, so it has a lot of finger prints on it, but I like the little different look it gives it. The extra wide edging on the pg (as compared to the original pg) goes well with the guitars binding and the clear pg goes well with the knobs.

A simple and inexpensive swap gives it a little different look.

Oh, Strum - knock on wood! Throw salt over your shoulder! Those are dangerous words to say aloud - you are tempting the Gods of Gas to start throwing thunderbolts your way!:poke:

Oh, yes - it does look snappy with the new pg.:AOK:

I hear ya, but this is safe to say - it was a gift. I have a rule that you don't sell gifts, except maybe wedding gifts.

I cleaned the guitar up and took the light scratches out of the pg today.

I know what you mean about gifts - and THAT was such a nice one!

Ah, yes - that little geetar in the last picture WAS tempting... Got me thinking about the fact that I've not played a p-90 guitar... and I was always fond of the sounds Lennon got (albeit with a hollow body)... But better you than me;) Have fun!

No, not a big fan. It just worked out that way, nothing intentional.

Sort of like when you go to the music store and a guitar follows you home.

I had a Sheraton that came with a White Pearl pickguard and Truss rod cover.
With the Gold and the Pearl guard is was amazing. Unfortunately it weighed about 13 lbs. In the picture you can't pickup of the pearl but it was sweet.
It was a special edition from EPI.
