Hey Guys!

This week will probably be my last video lesson for the year as things have gotten pretty busy with new babies, running our teaching studio and working on Book 2 of "Foundations for Guitar".

I have promised a "Memorial Lesson" for one of the guys in my forum who passed away this month so there will be a transcription and video lesson of the entry that Jazzblues' won the "Born Under a Bad Sign" solo contest with in December. Check out his Robben Ford/Larry Carlton stylings here: http://markweinguitarlessons.com/forum/index.php?topic=67.0

I'll also still be accessible through my website where the lessons are or even better through our forum at http://www.mwglforums.com (http://www.mwglforums.com/)

Whew...

So here is this weeks lesson on using the 3rds and 7ths of dominant chords to outline your harmony in a 12 Bar Blues:

Sorry to hear about the member of your forum. That is sad. It is nice you remembered him with this lesson.

Thanks for the great lesson again as well. Again, you are hitting on things I am doing with my instructor. One focus in recent weeks is flatting the 3rd over the IV chord. It is great that both 3rd and 7th chords are featured as markers in your lesson. Another way of approaching what my guy is talking about I think. Thanks again, Steve

Its kind of a bummer even though you don't really "know" people on the internet you do form relationships of a sort....I'll actually transcribe his solo and do a lesson on the cool parts in December...he actually played some stuff on his contest entry that I would like to steal for myself :)

I'm glad the lessons are supplementing what you are doing in real life...I think thats pretty neat :D

Yes, my instructor and you must share some of the same approaches because the lessons have tracked fairly consistently, at least as relates to chord construction, theory, scales and soloing type work. Thanks for all the great lessons.
