About three or four times, I've started posting an Unknown Hinson thread and haven't done it. I first came to know him through Squidbillies. I like "Fishcamp Womern." He also has a couple pretty nice covers of Hendrix tunes. I thought he used Valvetronix ampfs?
Not a song, but I agree:

He normaly uses Vox- all tube , on larger gigs he adds a vox 2 x 12 cab.
His "effects" are a vox tonelab se that he might stomp on 3 or 4 times during the show for boost, cleanup or a little delay. pretty much all guitar-amp.

I'm a fan. He is currently playing a Reverend Club King 290.
--ediit-- Oops, I see that Andy already mentioned the Rev CK290

This is the first I've heard of this guy, what's the story behind him? How long has he been around?

He's a guitar instructor from someplace in the southern U.S. He invented this "Unknown Hinson" vampire-country-western-troubadour schtick for a cable access T.V. show. After that show stopped he kept touring. He's got some chops, that's for sure. Here's a commercial from that T.V. show for "Liquid Chicken".

And here's a bit from Squidbillies. He is the voice of Early (the dad).

I always thought it amusing that the cartoon squidbillies carried an endorsement by Gibson.

I wonder if Gibson backs him , he plays an SG fairly often atleast untill he got the Reverend .
