A little old skool Joe (http://www.jbonamassa.com/jbtv/index.php?bcpid=1329233498&bclid=1333277767&bctid=1333277754), if there can be old skool for someone as young as he is. Rockin' an Esquire no less.

Again, Joe has this monster-tone. Like every single note is a punch in your face.
I bought his double cd "Live (from Nowhere In Particular)" and there's a whole bunch of really great song.

I remember you saying we lost him to LP's. I have never seen him play a strat. I wonder if I searched youtube I could find a clip.

Steve, I've seen him couple of times live here in small clubs way before he became that popular. He always played a golden Strat, a black Clapton Strat and a Gigliotti Tele. He very rarely used a Paul back in the days. From "you and Me" on he was more of a Paul guy. to me he sounded so much more versatile with the Strats.
Take a look at this and let me know what you think:

Here with the stolen Gigliotti Tele - his vintage Fender Tele sounded even better:

Dude, your Fender bias is really showing through!
Seriously, Joe sounds great no matter what he plays. I love his Les Paul tone (and he gets a broad range of tones with it by varying the different amps he plays through, not to mention effects), but I enjoy the Strat stuff very much, too. Apples & oranges, if you ask me.
I'm no big Gibson supporter, believe me (those !&%$?#@! prices!!), but I have to give them props for recognizing Joe's talent and signing him up as a featured artist, something that Fender apparently missed. There's a Joe Bonamassa Custom Shop model (http://www.gibsoncustom.com/inspiredby/Joe_Bonamassa_Les_Paul_Goldtop.html) now, though it's interesting to note that on stage, he plays one of several Custom Shop '59 Std. Reissues that he owns.

When I saw him he played his signature model most of the evening, it wasnt out yet, but had that black backside and the black hardware.
What Ive always found strange/different when watching him is he stays glued to the bridge pickup...and for the life of me cant figure out why his signature guitar even has a neck pickup.
