Do any of you have experience with anyone performing custom art work on guitars? I want to have one of my Strats refinished as Jimi's in the 1967 Monterey show that he set on fire. The designs he drew on it are gorgeous!

I'm hoping to find someone who won't put me in the poor house to do it. I tried to draw it on a template but I absolutely SUCK at drawing.

Hi Tremolo - If your gonna set it on fire, what difference does it make what the art work looks like? LOL!

Really, why don't you look for one of them local custom spray painters that do cars and motor cycles? Even Tee shirts painters. Give them a design and see how they do on cardboard. If they are successful, then they got the job.

Just a thought.

Here's a guy on another forum I lurk at that does very high quality relics and replicas... He does a SRV #1 that I think Stevie himself, were he here, might mistake for his own... Hope this helps!:DR

Wow... great advice guys! I'll look into both and see what I come up with. There is a site that refinishes guitars for a decent cost here that I stumbled across:

http://www.harleyguitars.com/

Some are nice, but there's way too many parrothead models there. :P

Also note that almost all the guitars they painted are Squier '51s! :)
