What is this riff..

I was practicing earlier this morning, and happended onto a very familiar riff. I just can't think of what song it's from.

Not too fast, I think it's repeated with variations.

Any ideas...

It's also very close to the main riff in "Hitchin' a Ride" by Green Day.

here's my reason for the Ventures , it's the main riff of the entire song.
I'm sure it's been unknowingly copied many times, but it's the earliest version of the chord pattern I'm aware know of.. heh...heh
