1. My Hohner Revelation RTS (http://www.diycustomamps.com/images/Rev_RTS_1.JPG) guitar. It is now my main guitar. It took some getting used to as I mainly played strats and strat copies in the past. Plays and sounds awesome.

2. EH Nano Chorus (http://www.diycustomamps.com/images/EH_nano_chorus1.JPG). Uber-noisy. The chorus effect isn't bad sounding, but the white noise in it drives me nuts.

3. Haven't sold anything this year yet, I'm in acquisition mode.

1. What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
- So far my new Klotz cable. It improved my sound so darn much. This can only be topped by a new old Marshall amph *lol*

2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
- Not many aquisutions this year. No disappointment, hehehe.

3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?
- Almost sold my Jimi Hendrix Strat! I must have been crazy for a moment. This sale would have broken my heart. Fortunately, I still have it!!!!!

1. I'm sorry, it's a tie. Peavey T-15 and Danelectro 'Black Coffee' distortion pedal. Even with a cheap amp I've got great tone.

2. Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive. I like it and use it, but I wish I'd saved up more and gotten the Danelectro "Tansparent Overdrive".

3. Behringer X-V Amp. I don't miss it, but I wish I'd gotten more than $20 for it.

Either my Spector Performer or the Dimarzio Area '61s
The fact that I bought a 1-Spot without getting the one with the extra plugs
I didn't sell anything, although I considered it several times

1. What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
Hagstrom Viking, but the Rabid Rodent deserves an honorable mention. Lots of fun in that pedal. The Vik wins because it is a guitar, and is so sweet.

2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
None really, though I bought some books and DVDs that I have not gotten around to using much yet so maybe that counts. Maybe my wah, not because there is anything wrong with it, but because I don't play with it much.

3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?
I sold only my Fully ST-4, and while I miss it, I was able to get the Hagstrom so no regrets this year.

1) Either My new Crate Vintage Club 20 or the Squier Strat I got from Strum.
2) The Vox AD30VT I had.
3) Probably the Washburn Idol Prototype I traded to Strum.

2. Folding amp stand (amps sound better on something solid)

3. OLP MM1 guitar. (UPS damaged it and the didn't ask me to insure it so I had to refund to the purchaser and now I'm stuck with a damaged guitar) UPS SUCKS!

My "Gear for the Year 2008"

What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
Until a couple of hours ago it was definitely the Fender Am Deluxe HSS Strat. Just got my Edwards 335 clone today though and It's already near the top after a couple hours of playing. Non-guitar wise The Olympus LS-10 Linear recorder. Brilliant piece of work that.

What gear was the biggest disappointment?
Amplitube. There appears to be a very good reason why people still buy amps and effects.

What did you sell this year that you now regret?
To avoid regret, I never sell anything.

Wow. I had a big year for aquisitions in 2008. I didn't realize until I checked.
I bought 5 guitars an Amp and a Delay pedal.
Most Enjoyable: As far as most enjoyable I would say my 1996 Gibson Les paul Standard.followed closely by my 2008 Gibson Studio. Then there are the Two Squier Deluxes and the CV50s Strat. The DD20 Giga Delay is a sweet pedal if I take the time to read the manual.

Biggest Dissapointment: I guess I would have to say the Marshall Amps. I tried one, and it had a lot of issues, the second one that I bought (DSL 401) has some tube issues that I haven't had time to fix. (Harmonic tube)
It does sound amazing and I am sure once I get a couple of tubes replaced it will sound even better. This is my first second hand amp purchase so it might just be a learning curve for me.

Sales and Trade-ins: I traded a 2006 Epiphone LP Standard and it was a nice guitar but I got the two deluxes in it's place and with the two Gibson purchases it did not hurt at all. I don't regret trading it.

2009 will be an interesting year. I plan on downsizing quite a lot and I am only looking at buying a 2/12 Cab. Probably not the best time to sell equipment so I may wait. Space is the issue now.

What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
Martin D12-1.

What gear was the biggest disappointment?
Presonus audio interface. After several computer crashes, it was back to where you came from!!
second place in this category, a Intellitouch tuner. Wanted something small, for tuning in noisy bars. Works fine for the D, G, B, high E strings. Very fussy for the low E and A strings.

What did you sell this year that you now regret?
Sold the MIM Strat but do not really regret it.

1. Unfortuately I didn't buy gear this year, except for picks and strings. They all performed reasonably well.
2. The biggest disappointment was that I did not buy any new gear this year, and haven't since Christmas, 2006.
3. I am an accumulator. Selling gear is a strange and foreign process to me. I guess you could call me the Anti-Strum.:D :poke:

I would say the Sx hollow body has been the most enjoyable and still getting use to it.
2.
Gibson Brite wire strings. Do not like them.
3.
I haven't sold anything but Kodiak did take the Squire Strat back to his house, kinda miss it at times.

1. What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
I will say the Epi Valve Jr. I really like my Wildkat, but the VJR I can use with all the electric guitars.

2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
None

3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?
I think it was this year, but regardless, it has to be the Ibanez ARC300. I wish someone would have talked me out of that transaction.

Ronnie, you are making me feel guilty about the Washburn.

1. I bought all my gear this year, so all of it.

2. The D10 which turned out to be ummm...collapsible.

3. I haven't sold anything, which will probably turn out to be my usual response to this question.

1.Agile LP copy loaded w/WCR p.u.'s, Ceriatone Overtone Special amph, Fender Roadhouse Strat, Fender Super Champ XD amph.

2.Behringer A/B 200 dual programmable switch(9v batt. powered only), piece of crap, IMO.......Behringer DR-100 digital reverb.....some nice sounds if you tweak it enough, but noisy, and it colors the amph's sounds a bit.

3.Nothing...... I have things to sell, but nothing I have to sell.....yet.

1. What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?

Guitar wise, I only bought one this year so thats easy, the Maton BB1200.
Other stuff wise it's the first FX kit I made, a Ge Fuzzface. That little sucker never fails to impress me.

2. What gear was the biggest disappointment?
Behringer DR100 Reverb pedal. It's like those pre-packaged cheese slices. No matter what you do to them they all still taste like plastic.

3. What did you sell this year that you now regret?
Nothing springs to mind. Maybe the $50 HDMI cable I just gave away 10 minutes ago might be regretted if I ever have to buy another one, but we'll see.

3. My trusty ol' Squier '51.

I saw two, count 'em two 51s on the rack, NOS, at an austin store today...

2. The D10 which turned out to be ummm...collapsible.

Hmmm... I missed the 'collapsible' D10 story! Sounds...intriguing.

1. My Tacoma DR-14, followed by the AD30VT.

2. Danelectro Overdrive pedal - just doesn't do anything for me (anyone want to buy it, cheap?)

3. Not a sale, but I had to send back the Seagull Artist Mosaic guitar I tried; it just wasn't the sound I wanted (given my need to limit the number of guitars, especially costly ones) - but it was one beautiful guitar.

1. Not strictly a purchase but digging my strat out after years of neglect was like getting a new guitar.

2. Epiphone G400 Vintage. It really didn't do it for me in the end. I'm just a Fender guy at heart.

3. Not sure, maybe the Fulldrive 2 Mosfet, maybe the old RAT.

Mark, don't sweat it! As you've probably figured out, I am a champion at second-guessing myself. I'm excited for you and can't wait to hear how it turns out after you get the new pickups in it. I am ENJOYING the Squier as it's become my "project guitar". There's a few mods coming soon. I'll keep you posted.

I've wound up with a Crate Vintage Club 20 that I'm really liking, also! So, I'm having a Merry Christmas!

What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
Toss up between my Lil Puncher bridge p'up for my Modified Vintage Modified Tele, and my MIM Strat... or maybe my Samson G-Track condenser mic/USB interface and M5a Studio monitors... or maybe my Samson 1800a subwoofer, or Boss rackmount compressor... or... no, I think that's about it for 2008 :bravo:

What gear was the biggest disappointment?
Nothing comes to mind right away...

What did you sell this year that you now regret?
Haven't sold anything this year, though it's getting time to clear out some stuff that's just sitting around and collecting dust.

Phew, OK, GAS got a little out of control this year :thwap:

GUITARS:
Fender American Standard 2008 - Really impresses me, one of my fav guitars.. It will take a lot to get me to sell this fine axe.
Fender '89 MIJ Custom '72RI Telecaster - my main player, serious mojo here.
Gibson Robot First Run - he technology is impressive, but I don't play it much.
Rickenbacker 360/12 - <3, very impressed!
Wolf WST-Mini (Gift) - nice as a gift, wouldn't have bought it.

PEDALS:
Boss BF-3 Flanger - Don't like/use it as much as I expected
Boss CH-1 Chorus - good to have, but I don't love it as much as I expected.
Boss DD-3 Delay - looooove
Boss PH-3 Phaser - looooove
Dunlop GCB-95 Cry Baby Wah-Wah - looooove

STUDIO/MISC:
Digidesign Mbox 2 mini - a good recording interface, easy to use & good price, though I kind of wish I'd bought something a little higher-end now.
M-Audio Axiom 49 - looooove, what a GREAT midi controller for the price, beats the competition hands down
Shure SM57 - wont have a chance to play with this one till xmas day!

What gear that you bought in 2008 was the most enjoyable?
The Telecasters & the Rickenbacker 360/12, hands down, the Axiom 49 closely in second.. the Boss PH3 has got some big love, too. I guess the instruments themselves win this year!

What gear was the biggest disappointment?
I usually research my purchases well & try to play with them & get opinions before finally dropping the cash so no real let downs this year - maybe I was a little let down that I didn't find some of the things I wanted to (an original 60s jag in red, anyone?).

What did you sell this year that you now regret?
No sales this year (sales are rare round these parts, I'm a pack rat)

Just to explain all the BOSS pedals, I was filling in on rhythm guitar on a small tour on the east coast of Australia, had my pedal case stolen out of the van & needed to do some quick replacing for the gig the following night.. but they have really grown on me! the only pedal that didn't get stolen was my DS-1, which I'm glad for as it was an old '80s MIJ one, it was in the glovebox in pieces undergoing a little repair.
