I told you I would........today's the day. I'm right in the middle of it, but I've got some stuff put back, so here's those pics.......... that 8x10 hanging up is my grandbaby girl w/ Joe Satriani........ my son took her with him the day he bought his new Ibanez in San Francisco, and he went the day Satch showed up!
(I juggled some stuff around in these pics just to confuse you, David.......see if you can spot the changes:D :D .)

Looks good OG. It's funny you should post this, I was just thinking of hauling everything out of my so called guitar room and painting it. I also want to add some wall hooks and get rid of some things.

The problem: the wife wants the master bedroom painted and I'm not up for another "you care more about those guitars..."

But, back to you, the room looks good. How much space do you have there?

One section is 6'x9', the narrower part is 4'x8', w/ 8' ceiling. It's like a big old closet someone converted to a little open room........my wife graciously allowed me to have my music gear in there after I agreed to pay a 30yr. mortgage..........
Hope you get the painting done w/ minimal problems.

I love the walls. I had to move my music room into a spare bedroom after my wife (then girlfriend)moved in. She claimed my former room for a sewing room. My new studio doesn't have enough wall space to hang my guitars so they are just piled up in their cases. The sacrifices we must make for the people we love.

That wood is really nice is it Alder, Ash, or Basswood. What kind o sustain does it give to your notes! LOL.

Oldguy, that is one sweet collection you've got there! I am WAY jealous! You've got a lot of really good equipment and really good room for keeping it. One question, though, do you have an echo problem with the wood walls? Or, does the wood tend to absorb the sound?

Good luck with your project! :AOK:

If you're "getting rid of some things", then give us a shot at buying them, if they're something we might be able to use! Good luck with your painting project, including the master bedroom. I'll build anything in the world, but I'd just as soon have my butt beat as to have to paint it. My wife WON'T let me cut in, even with painter's tape, but she will let me (MAKE ME) roll the paint.

Thanks, Ron...... no, there's no problem w/ echo. That room is facing out into our front room, and the sound tends to be absorbed by the carpet and drapes. Plus the opening at the front is 8'6"w x 7'6"h, so the sound doesn't bounce back, it tends to go straight out into the living room. The paneling is knotty pine from yrs. ago, it was done when we moved here 2 yrs. ago.

Getting rid of things means stuff in the room that doesn't belong to me. Clothes, books...

I like to paint, but admittedly I am a blue tape guy when it comes to cutting in. It's the clean-up that I don't like.

Second from the left, in front of the Super Reverb. I changed the pickguard to tortiseshell and sanded the neck, including the Squier logo, and finished it w/ Bullseye shellac. The other one I had, I gave to a relative who wanted to learn to play, 'cause he gave us a self-propelled lawn boy mower...........
