------------

The world’s first rock ‘n’ roll theme park has filed for bankruptcy after only nine months of being open.

The $400 million Led Zeppelin roller coaster park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina opened only last spring but never had enough money for promotion according to Jim Olecki, the park spokesman.

Experts have claimed that the park, which opened after seven years of planning, including participations from the remaining Led Zeppelin band members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones, couldn’t have picked a worse time to open due to the current credit crisis and a drop of tourism due to gas prices last year.

I'm not much for theme parks, but I would wager that at least the music playing in this one was cool.

Maybe they should've built it in Kansas, it would've been cool to have it just down the street from that haunted gym.

I was in Myrtle this summer and I didn't see or hear anything about it.
I went to the house of blues and it SUKKKED. The food was crap the service was crap and there was no music. I felt like catching up with Dan Akroyd when he was in Niagara to open his winery and tell him about it. Has anyone ever been in a bar in the US that DIDN'T have draft beer.

wow i was just watching a documentary/thing on the discovery channel. They have a Ferris wheel that goes up to a roller coaster and they had a whole bunch of building set backs.

OK, this is a joke, right!? Tell me this is a joke - especially the 400 million part...

There was a Led Zeppelin theme park? I guess they were right about the poor advertising. . .
