Teisco's steadily pop up on Yahoo auctions here in Japan (Teisco being a Japanese company). I think they're becoming something of a collectors item, as the sell prices are steadily creeping up. You...
It's pretty handy and I'm not going to complain about free software, but I prefer the old GearBox version's interface. Still as you say, it's good for reamping or changing amps on the fly after...
Originally from NZ, but currently living in Japan (and for the foreseeable future).
I think Just Strum should sue Joe for plagiarizing his haircut.
From the videos on the JHS website, the "P90 LP" sounds quite nice, a lot brighter than a standard HB LP. What are you intending to install the minis in?
Hi Syo,
Yes I'm still in Japan. I'd be quite keen to see how they sound. I'm intending to install new pickups in an SG. How much are you wanting for them?
Those guitars are going to look good. I especially like the first (with the maple top?), dare I say "The thinking person's metal guitar". Who did you get to make them for you?
Cheers, will do.
Has anybody installed/used/tried these pickups? In particular, the humbuckers. The set I'm looking at are 7.4Kohm (neck) and 13.8Kohm (bridge) with metal covers (Gibson LP style). I did a google for...
Well I've contributed something, whether or not it's listenable is a matter of perspective. There's a link in my signature for more stuff as well.
I really like some of the fuzzed out guitar tones they get.
The Miles Davis book is probably the best I've read. If you can handle all the expletives, I highly recommend it.
How are you recording at the moment? What software/interface/PC specs etc? From your post it appears you are realtively new to recording, and porbably need a little clarification on the steps in the...

Wow, I never thought of doing this :thwap:
Cheers for the tip.
Usain Bolt passed over 30 consecutive drug tests. Carl Lewis failed 3 drug tests and was allowed to compete at the 1988 Olympics.
Good stuff deeaa. I wonder if you could give some insight as to how you did the mix/mastering etc.

Good song. I seem to recall that being played quite a bit on the local student radio station a few years back.
I'm not too familiar with GBV apart from knowing Robert Pollard releases albums at a...
I usually go for -6 -9 dB for processed, or if I'm recording unprocessed guitar -12 -18 dB. You need more headroom for unprocessed guitar, since the VSTs will start eating it up.
One thing to bear...
I agree.
Years ago, when racks were all the rage, I had an ADA preamp going into a Yamaha power amp (MOSFET). It sounded very cold. I changed the ADA out to a Lee Jackson tube preamp, same thing. ...
I'm quite fond of Mastodon, especially "Blood Mountain". I love the way the drums kick off that album. It reminds me of the SFX they used for the cars on The Flintstones :)
Robert, Umea seems to...
See that's the thing. I think Meshuggah are quite brutal, but "heavy", I'm not too sure. I'm an old fart, but to my mind, heavy means "slow and plodding".
