    Default Songwriting 2

Yesterday was my first class in Songwriting Level 2, a continuing education course offered at the University of Saskatchewan (link). This semester it is being facilitated by Jay Semko of The Northern Pikes fame... very cool! Lots of talent in this small class (only 6 of us) so I hope some of it will rub off on me

I'm learning a lot about the craft of writing and am trying to build up a catalogue. I'll try to get something posted here one day, but I'm having issues on the recording side (my laptop is, for all intent and purposes, dead).

I don't want to restrict myself to any particular genre, but am leaning towards a more acoustic, rootsy vibe lately so we'll see what happens.

I presented one song that I wrote about 20 years ago and I'm going to dust it off and see if I can make it better. Feedback was very positive, so I'm encouraged by that.

Coming soon to a coffeehouse near you... :

This is the only one - too old/broke to go back to school This isn't a credit course, but I think it counts if you are putting it towards an Arts certificate - not sure how that works... I'm just registered under "General Interest".
