Default Gig in front of the Premier tonight

Yep, Myra and I are playing for an hour while the Premier of Alberta and other hot shots are having supper. Hope we don't screw up too much...

I got to shake hands with Premier Ed Stelmach and had my picture taken with him too. Seems like a nice guy. He had 4 security guys with those "in-ear monitors" around him, just like in the movies. Kinda cool!

My friend Myra and I were playing some dinner music for a tribute for a retired MLA here in Camrose. But the speeches, man, the speeches! They never ended...

The gig was so-so. I never played my Hellhound amp so quietly before. The sound guys wanted it very low volume on the amp, and that was a big mistake. We couldn't hear my guitar much, so we didn't really get into much of a groove as a result. Oh well, we got many compliments anyway. It's great to work with someone like Myra. Even if I or my sound sucks, she always sounds great. She saves my bacon.

    Sounds like an experience.

Played such a gig about three years ago in a huge Airport lounge where there was a meeting for "very important people" *lol* Yeah, the speeches, oh dear....

Anyways, the money they pay you is always good at such occasions. I am not making music for money and try to avoid such gigs, but sometimes such gigs can help getting your GAS satisfied....
