    Default Chuck D'Aloia

    Hey everyone. Vinni Smith here.

I hope this is posted in the correct place. If not, please forgive me.....

I just wanted to turn you all onto this new video/DVD that I have been studying a LOT lately. This is the very thing that is going to take me out of my learning rut that I have been in.

It is called Blues with Brains and it is by Chuck D'Aloia. OUTSTANDING is not a big enough word for this guys work.

He basically teaches you some cool blues and then a lot more than that! Out of the pocket stuff with diminished scales and runs. Ya know, Robben Ford type stuff. I have been around Robben teaching quite a bit and I have all of his videos, and honestly, I like the way Chuck teaches on this DVD better. Better explanations and Chuck doesn't hold his fingers weird like Robben does. I asked Robben to teach me some cool stuff to play over the Iv chord and didn't really come home with much. But this guy? Incredible!

If you want to learn some cool Blues stuff and some REALLY cool stuff to do over the IV chord, then you need to check this guy out.....

    Hey everyone.

I just wanted to drop you all al note to say I have been working with Chuck's video a lot lately and I am very pleased with what I am learning. I went on vacation to Monterey California and took my guitar. Mrs V likes to read, so when she read, I played guitar. I started practicing a lot of the things demonstrated on the video. Wow! There is a tone of information on that video!

Anyway, just wanted to say, my hat is off to Chuck once more for a fine piece of art and a wonderful learning tool for us..........

Default Blues With Brains Video clip

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBrm-BvZRjg

    About "Blues With Brains"

"Blues With Brains" is a 1 Hour and 15 min lesson with Chuck D'Aloia. The material is blues based using pentatonic scales and variations to deal with the chord changes. Chuck touch's on the 1/2-1 dim scale as well, again, approaching it with variations on pentatonic ideas. Throughout the lesson Chuck demos the ideas w/ play along tracks (the same tracks are included with the DVD) that open doors to more complex harmony without a lot of theory. The lesson concept's are strong on melodic content and connecting ideas with the aim at expanding blues based vocabulary.
The physical DVD, reviews, downloads of the DVD, his "Mode Backtrax" play along mp3's and new CD, "Circle 7," are available at www.chuckdaloiamusic.com
