    Default Ear plugs for gigs?

What types of earplugs do you suggest using for gigs?

I tried the construction sponge type but I can't hear anything I'm playing with them. Are there any models made specifically for musicians?

I've tried the squishy sponge types of different varieties and some of the rubber plugs with ribs and a device at the end that just lets certain frequencies or levels through. I'm not sure which. I didn't like either type. I feel too removed from the music and sonic environment. Of course going with out I'm hating myself at the end of the night because I'll have ringing for two weeks.

I have heard these are good -
    Aearo earplugs

I haven't tried them myself, but I need to get something because my hearing is going bad.

So you "heard" they were good? That's great!

My local music store recommended these also but were out of stock when I went to purchase a set. I'll give these a try at our next gig and see what happens.
