It's an Elitist, in many cases a better guitar.

    ooooh no.

while gibson quality has been declining, the elitists were apparently getting too good, so epiphone had to discontinue them.

they've always been on par with the gibsons. which is why i got one.

    makes sense.

why would they discontinue them for being too good? theyre all part of gibson arent they :L

and gibby quality definately let slide with the 'Robot' series. they remind me of an Encore guitar i got from argos a few years back.

Do you own a robot?? What is it about the quality did you not like about your robot:
My boys love theirs and being able to use different tunings on the fly has opened doors for them. I have /had a bad injury lately to my left arm and it indeed has been handy tuning wise (price of course is a joke and name only based) Gibby has heard the noise and I think they are doing some things better quality wise on some models. The plekking machine for the frets is a plus fo-sho.
The one I got was close to flawless and has worked perfect.(My opinion is there is a flaw in every guitar: )
I got a some what rarer limited one with body /headstock binding and holly.Hate to say it but its no encore brother

The Elitist Casino is still in production. They dropped the remaining Elitist series because of the overlap in price that didn't make business sense. As for quality and performance between Epi and Gibson, that will be the endless debate. I know that the Epiphone is great bang for the buck and the Elitist series was and is still a good buy.

the thing about the robot is...its really unbalanced and the tuner is okay but more often than not it throws your intonation right out.

i just got pissed off with all the fiddling and pissing around. i sold it for £800 and bought my ibanez, and my marshall.

Unbalanced as in headstock heavy??? The tuners and tuning system is lighter than most tuners(gotohs etc etc)
Powerhead tuner =46.5g a piece a Gotoh tuner=49g a total of 15 grams lighter per set.My humble opinion is it is balanced and hopefully being lighter doesn't rob sustain.

Not sure what gibby tuners(vintage style or grovers, others weigh in at.

Intonation on mine is spot on or real close anyways Plus it can fix it by itself if ya make it: You can pull the pegs out and manually tune it also. Not trying to be confrontational just curious of other owners opinions

I can see failure in the future if the cpu's fail,or sweat from stage use messes up the pcb under bridge.Ours is staying in house/studio

    UPDATED:Info on powertuners weight wise.
