    Lately, I've been listening to

    Raging Honkies
Dark Tower - the last book!
    Ry Cooder - I, Flathead
The Law of Gravity is nonsense. No such law exists. If I think I float, and you think I float, then it happens.
Master Guitar Academy - I also teach via SKYPE.

Kudos to you for reaching The Dark Tower at last, a good journey, no?!

I've been listening to Donny Hathaway singing Jealous Guy again, it's not getting old no matter how much I play it

Today has been John Hiatt day - all day long! Seven CD's and a 2 CD Anthology. One of the most underappreciated singer/songwriters ever, but, thank goodness, a huge cult following, and many other artists have covered his stuff.

Tomorrow, I get the Delbert McClinton treatment. Looking forward to that!

I've been going through the other two "Guitar for the Practicing Musician" albums. Volume 3 is probably my favorite. I like Shawn Lane's cover of "All Along the Watchtower" . . . until the extended pointless wankfest at the end. And this is from someone who tends to think that pointless wankfests are Good Things.

Shriekback were one of the most darkly perverse bands to come out of the 80s. I still love their stuff, though it does tend to draw odd looks if you've got one of their songs lodged in your head and you end up singing it to yourself at work all day like I just did.

    Priests and cannibals!
    Prehistoric animals!
Everybody happy as the dead come home!
    Big black Nemesis!
    Parthenogenesis!
No one move a muscle as the dead come home!

There's something strangely compelling and intriguing about those lyrics. I gotta try and see if I can find any of their music.

Here's the song I quoted: "Nemesis," probably their biggest hit.

(Should have been the proper Against the wind cover but I couldnt find that one)
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009

    Re: "Her Strut"

It took me many years to realize that the "but" in the refrain is in fact a synonym for "however," if you get my drift.

it's a double album of two different sessions with the amazing drummer michael shrieve anchoring two trios. one disc is shrieve with lane on guitar and hellborg on bass, the other shrieve with frisell on guitar and wayne horvitz on organ.

i am currently listening to just the second half. i love the first part as well, but not quite like the frisell/horvitz half.

I think this one's been mentioned here before, but here it is anyway:

Played it about 10 times since I got it last week. New addition to my list of favourite albums.

Been listening to this one a lot as well:
