Today would have been Curtis' 67th birthday.

I remember the day he died. His death seems to be clouded in mystery. His family wouldn't divulge the details, although (I'm not trying to be funny here) considering his condition at the time, I guess suicide can be ruled out.
I have a 3 CD boxset of his work from The Impressions days up to the last album before his accident.

Yeah, it was an odd story for sure.

I do treasure his music from The Impressions through to his solo stuff. The guy was the epitome of soul.

The second of two great albums from these guys.
I just pre-ordered their upcoming EP due out on the 23rd.

Yeah, Budos Band II is a great album. Mas o Menos is probably my fav track.

And I like E.I.T.S's "Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell The Truth Shall Live Forever". I kinda wish they'd evolved a bit more musically though, they seem to be stuck in archetypal-post-rock-outfit mode.

    On my MP3 player today:

    The bass playing is fantastic.

If there was a tighter live band than this, I haven't heard them.

Listening to "Sun is Coming," by Matt Wilson (a solo track from the front man of long-defunct Minneapolis band "Trip Shakespeare.") It's got a very cool acoustic guitar riff that I'm digging.

I think this one's been mentioned here before, but here it is anyway:

Played it about 10 times since I got it last week. New addition to my list of favourite albums.

Been listening to this one a lot as well:

The reissue of Chomp by Pylon, who were simply one of the greatest bands that ever existed, was released this past weekend. It's in heavy rotation and will be for quite some time, I think.
