"Blues To Die For"........Leslie West; 2003. Leslie doing his version of tunes by his heroes...BB King, Albert King, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, etc.
Uneven album.......but at times with Leslie playing like the way we HOPE Leslie would play, it's great git playing for sure. Pretty good singing too. Highlights are Mean Mistreater, I'm Ready, Talk to Your Daughter (slide) and Why I Sing The Blues. The last tune is 7 minutes of P-90 crunch heaven!!
New to me:
George Harrison - Live in Japan
Downloaded today:
Johnny Marr & The Healers - Boomslang
Love the version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on that one, and not for Clapton's blistering solo (which does anything but gently weep), but for the doo-wop arrangement of the backing singers on the chorus sections.
NP:
Been playing "Wildwood Flower" on the acoustic a lot recently. His is the one I most hear in my head when I play. The rest of the album is also awesome.
