It has only 7 songs which are heavy on the blues. "First Flash of Freedom" and "Good Enough" are standout tracks with Mike Campbell laying out some fine solos that you don't always get in the recording studio. A good listen.

Their Live Anthology is recommended as always.

R_of_G, you wouldn't happen to have any albums from Kermit Ruffins with or even without the Rebirth Brass Band?
These two look and sound tempting.

    GravelRoad - Shot The Devil
I ran across this in CDbaby.com. Take a dose of old ZZ Top, some John Lee Hooker, a twist of electric bluesman T-Model Ford, and add thick, gritty guitar and you get this band. Put it to lyrics about sex, murder, death, and love. Like a stout beer, it isn't for everyone.

Dan Phelps - Broke Down Engine
    Mostly acoustic delta blues.

I currently have no Kermit Ruffins in my collection, a situation I hope to remedy soon.

Sounds like a combination I need to check out.

Take some of the best brass band moments you've seen watching Treme and you'll have a good idea what these albums sound like. A bit wild and ragged around the edges, but full of enough energy to make the dead dance.

**I'd recommend Throwback over the live album, however. More brass and less singing, but it feels like a live performance.

Surprisingly non Iron Maiden like. Just good rock and roll.
