Yet another pleasant surprise. Far better than their earlier albums.

These guys are new to me. A bit mellow yet pretty good at times.


Patty Griffin - Flaming Red
Not my favorite by her, but it still has enough Americana to work.

This concert has been playing on tv this past week. It's an awesome show. Some really great playing, emotion and the sound is fantastic.

This concert has been playing on tv this past week. It's an awesome show. Some really great playing, emotion and the sound is fantastic.

Yep, I caught some of it and it was excellent. The man draws from a bottomless well of talent.

His Rock Candy Funk Party project band has some fun funk, too.

His Rock Candy Funk Party project band has some fun funk, too.

As a fan of both Joe B. and funk, I was really hoping to like Rock Candy Funk Party. I find it to be too jazzy for my tastes which seems to take some of the fun out of funk for me.

Watched that the other night. It's nice that Dave has him on regularly, though it'd be a far better show if they let Steve sing and talk to Dave instead of wasting time on Ryan Lochte, who may swim really really fast, but otherwise seems to be the single most vapid human being alive.

I've got my daughter hooked on James Brown these days. It's awesome to hear your four-year-old randomly sing "Get up offa that thing, and dance 'til you feel better!"
