I've heard any number of guitar players try their hand at "Maggot Brain" with varying results. Cline's take on it is amongst my favorites.

And speaking, at least in a way, of Eddie Hazel...

Here's a couple more passable renditions:

Although the second one is really more inspired by EH than a cover.

    Love both of those.

Here's another one that's not precisely a cover, but a tribute to Hazel that certainly pays homage to "Maggot Brain."

I'm listening to a band I recently discovered; a band called Misery Signals.

The song by Misery Signals is "Reverence Lost"

    Kicking Television: Live in Chicago

Never owned any of their music until now. Not enjoying the useless noise thrown in the middle of otherwise good music.

Brian Ray - This Way Up
    I'm really enjoying this album.
    Who is Brian Ray?
Brian Ray has been an in-demand session/touring musician and hit songwriter for acts such as Etta James, Smokey Robinson, Rod Stewart, Kelly Clarkson and Chris Cornell to name a few. But for the past decade Brian has been touring the world's largest venues and stadiums in Paul McCartney's band.

So far I like it. I've given 'All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone' a straight run-through this morning and there's some cool stuff here. I'll need to give it a few more listens before I really form an opinion . . . what stands out the most, so far, is that I really, really like the drum sounds - I mean the way the drums are recorded and how they sit in the mix. It adds a lot. Of course there are a thousand great guitar sounds happening too - and I always appreciate that!
