So much ado about straps! LOL
I prefer plain, basic straps. My LP isn't so heavy that I need padding, and I use a Fender nylon-backed black leather strap with straplocks. Classic look and it slides really nicely.
email a photo of your guitar Tio, maybe I can help with a suggestion

You're absolutely correct mainestratman, any strap should do ya'.
I just appreciate handmade stuff.
When I drink my coffee in the morning, I don't drink it out of a styrofoam cup. I usually use one I made or one that a really good potter made. The coffee tastes the same, but the experience is different. As I reach for a favorite cup on the shelf it can bring back memories of working on the wheel in a ceramics studio, or remembering the friends I made going there. A polyester blanket from Wal-Mart will keep you warm, but there's a lot more to be appreciated from one handwoven on a loom from wool yarn spun by hand and sheared from the sheep on your friend's farm. I still use a strap I made 37 years ago, lots of memories there.
Anyway, different people, different appreciation, it's all good.
At least we both like Maine and Strats
I purchased one of Bob's excellent guitar straps. Check out this thread http://www.thefret.net/showthread.php?p=168316 for a review, some pictures, and even a 5 part video of Bob making a killer strap.
I'm going to order one from otaypanky too.
