    Default Clown poop SG

That is what this new SG looks like to me, what do you guys think?

I generally like SG-style guitars, but that is seriously fugly. IMHO, of course.

The neck is the really amazing part. A guy I used to know who built lutes used to talk about wanting to do something just like this.

Makes that Clapton Cream-era SG painted for him by The Fool look like a model of restraint and subtlety by comparison....

I like the black and white one better. The other one kind of looks like someone threw up a bag of Skittles at the top of a hill.

I like SG's in a more traditional red or black. That one could be played by Willy Wonka!

However, the recent SG that caught my eye last year is the Epiphone Prophecy.

    Me likely.

On my planet that is a conservative traditional look.

It's birch laminate. It looks like they are looking at alternative building materials and construction.

I kind of like the new designs and probably would for a little while. Then the novelty would most likely wear off. The one thing that I don't like right off the bat is that there are no fretboard position markers.

I could see a dude in a reggae band groovin on one. The guy playing guitar for the Wailers last time I saw them was on a SG. But no fretboard markers would be a drag.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but do you guys really depend that much on inlays on the front of the fretboard? The dots on the side of the fretboard are important to me, but I don't really notice the markers on the front. I've always kind of thought they were there for the benefit of guitarists in my audience.

You bet I do. But I am still relatively new at all this. Nonetheless, I definitely need them.
