Thumbs up Cool vintage gear link . . .

I was browsing the 'web this morning, looking for some info, and came across this cool link - - the Riff Matrix. This guy has a nice collection of vintage guitars and amps, all of which are accompanied by some excellent written descriptions about the tone, playability, and features of each. The really cool part of this page, however, is the sound clips. Wonder what a vintage '52 Les Paul Goldtop sounds like through a vintage '49 Fender Champ? Well, wonder no more.

For those Fretters who may not be familiar with the nuances of vintage gear, their sound, or why they are desirable pieces of gear to own - - this web page is an excellent source of information. And for the die-hard vintage fans, it's just a little slice of heaven. Here's the link:

A pox upon you! I'm going to be spending hours on that site now, listening to clips. I hope you're happy!

BTW, that '52 Goldtop is the same model that I described encountering in my neighbor's basement in THIS THREAD. I remember that "flying trapeze bridge"!!

Wierd, where do you get a 64 strat with jumbo frets unless you replace them, or did they actualy use jumbo frets on 60's strats?

    Very*nice, Nelskie!
That ยด52 goldtop sounds so good! I gotta get one of those
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009
