Default What guitar gear did you get for Christmas?

Me, none. I buy my own guitar gear, or else there would be screwups...

I haven't planned next gear purchase. Seems like I'm quite content at the moment - no major GAS issues for now.

My 2nd best Christmas present was my studio room is practically finished building just before Christmas. I just need to paint the walls, and the contractor will be installing a metal door next week.

1st, well, being with my family is of course the best Christmas present!

I'm in the same boat as you. No one buys me guitar gear because once you get past basic equipment presents start to get a little expensive. I did get a cool little HD video recorder though. That will be a lot of fun to use with the band.

my bass buddy has one of those basses pes. funny thing about it it, he has 3 extra expensive Cliff Bordwell basses(if you look him up, the newest model is named after my buddy) and he plays the SX more.

I don't ask anyone to buy me guitar gear so nobody does, just pajama bottoms. over the past week or so I did pick up 2 complete guitars and one body. I'm waiting until after the holidays to decide exactly what direction I'm going to go with each one.

Partly my Martin, as it was part purchased with Christmas funds received in advance. Other than that, a pack of Dunlop Ultex 1.0 mil picks. Nice!

I got me a box of candy I bought myself and a small wooden clip shaped like a guitar and intended to help squeeze tubes like toothpaste etc. So I guess it was guitar related.

I never get any presents, I always tell everybody I don't want anything and don't celebrate birthdays etc. Maybe when I hit 40 I'll buy myself something though, maybe a bathtub.

My wife and Kodiak got me THE BEATLES complete set of remastered CD's and the huge BEATLES ANTHOLOGY, and I somehow have this new Carvin C350 acoustic, I'll post pictures soon as take time to stop running around to family.
We also got a USB turntable and I hope to be able to record a lot of our 45's to CD.

Pretty much what everyone else said. No one buys me a gear gift because they wouldn't know what they were buying anyway.

For my own Christmas present I bought myself the Roland RE-20 Space Echo.

I can't wait to play with this thing. The videos blew me away. I haven't heard anything like this since the old 201 unit was around.

I didn't get any gear-related things for Christmas. I only asked for money (tacky, I know) but I think the time has come to finally update my box. My really old Celeron 400 system that my kids have been using finally seems to be giving up the ghost. They'll get my current one once the upgrade is accomplished.

I asked for a bunch of stuff (strap, hangers, Bonamassa DVD, hygrometer, fingerpicking books), but didn't get any of it. I still have another round to go, with different relatives, so I have my fingers crossed...

I might buy myself a Crate Powerblock off of CL when I get back home.

While it hasn't been a good Christmas for guitar, I did get a new tent and sleeping bag, so I'm ready for spring!

I've been researching the heck out of DAW's for the past 2 months and Lady Monkus gets me a 21" iMac. Great Christmas here !
