I never have before. They had a Jan Akkerman (from FOCUS) signature model in the 70's. I have never heard of Jan Akkermen before either.

Framus makes top class instruments and amps. Their Ruby Riot amp has got very good reviews in guitarmagazines here.
I can't say that I've given up on a flanger cause I've never liked the effect either. I also can't say the same about Tremolo. I hate them both equally. - Tone2TheBone 2009
The very first guitar I bought was a Framus. I bought it brand new in '72 when I lived in Germany. I still have it and it still plays.
I also owned a Framus when I was in Germany, back in 1970. It was a 12 string accoustic that I got for a song. Very decent guitar.

Yes, the new ones are high quality instruments with a few design innovations of their own. I have no idea about the vintage ones, but you can find those on ebay.de for rather good prices and they are quite sought after by some; esp. their jazz boxes.
